The Twin Towers Orphan Fund was founded on September 12, 2001 for the sole purpose of providing educational and welfare assistance to the children who were orphaned (who lost one or both parents) by the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. "Eight years ago on September 11th, I left for a trade show out of Boston's Logan Airport. Our flight path took us right over New York City. Looking down from 30,000 feet the first Tower had already been struck and I could see it clearly burning. I didn't know what happened until we landed in Atlanta. It took me a week to get home and when I got there I knew things had to change for me. Family had to come first and I had to find time to start chipping away at my life "to do" list. At the top of that list for me was taking my songwriting seriously and completing a CD of my music. I just released my first studio recorded CD "American dReam" on Sunday, September 20th. The first song that I wrote on this journey, "One Floor Taller" is a tribute to those who have served and fallen in the name of our great country and to those who fell on September 11th. It offers the hope that we will rebuild as we have done in all previous conflicts and become stronger for it. It would complete this journey to know that a song of mine was able to help rebuild the human side of the September 11th tragedy through charity.
